DESCRIPTION
The aim of this course is to train students to properly react to and to survive, a helicopter ditching at sea. The training is composed of classroom sessions and pool exercises on all aspects of offshore helicopter operations, safety and survival equipment, procedures for ditching preparation, upright helicopter evacuation, and inverted (underwater) egress techniques. The practical aspect of the course is surface and underwater evacuation exercises conducted in the Modular Egress Training Simulator (METS™). The METS™ utilizes functioning replicas of the emergency exits installed in the commonly used helicopters currently flying offshore in Indonesia. This gives the student realistic and state of the art training with the same type of equipment they will be functioning in a real situation.
OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of the training delegates should be deemed competent to correctly react during an emergency helicopter-ditching situation.
