    DECRIPTION

    Bridges are the most important part of transportation infrastructure. The design, development and worldwide construction of bridges represent the most challenging achievements in civil engineering. This course presents structural design of steel bridges that covers both superstructures and substructures. The analysis and design include an overview of different short and medium span bridge types as well as long span bridges.

    The course provides basic principles of strength, serviceability, fatigue analysis, redundancy and load path, as well as seismic analysis. Numerous examples and case studies are presented in details for highway and railway bridges.

     

    OBJECTIVE

    To provide participants modern approach for steel bridge design, and the latest best practice design guidance.
